SYNOPSIS

Without William Shakespeare, we wouldn’t have literary masterpieces like Romeo and Juliet. But without Henry Condell and John Heminges, we would have lost half of Shakespeare’s plays forever! After the death of their friend and mentor, the two actors are determined to compile the First Folio and preserve the words that shaped their lives. They’ll just have to borrow, beg, and band together to get it done. Amidst the noise and color of Elizabethan London, THE BOOK OF WILL finds an unforgettable true story of love, loss, and laughter, and sheds new light on a man you may think you know. Hear their story of the battle to save a legacy when TCT presents THE BOOK OF WILL.

“If you are a Shakespeare fan, you’ll love it because there’s all kinds of great Easter eggs and you’ll get the quotes and the deeper levels. But it’s not written in Shakespearean dialogue, so it’s super accessible, and it speaks to something that’s universal and timeless: deep friendship and how you spend your love and your life. I think that that’s really important medicine for everyone right now in the world.” – THE BOOK OF WILL playwright, Lauren Gunderson

THE BOOK OF WILL is presented by special arrangement with Broadway Licensing, LLC, servicing the Dramatists Play Service collection. (www.dramatists.com)
